WHOOPS! - From History Channel's big budget feature, "The World Wars". This is perfect example of a major oversight in production. German, First World War infantry utilizing a modern, stainless, lever-action rifle. This is only one of many horrible blunders made in this series. Remember: A big budget production does NOT equal a high quality, accurate production. Source: The History Channel

What I observe

With the availability of quality movie technology due to cheap computing power, the ease of producing media and the unprecedented amount of information available to the general public, there is no longer an excuse for any production to be remotely inaccurate. Especially if the production has a large budget. It’s the advent of this technology and this ease of production by uninformed and misguided producers and staff that contribute the horribly inaccurate representations of history by not verifying and authenticating their work nor utilizing any quality consulting by an expert on these subjects. Like the tech and the ease of production, informational resources are also readily available, but it appears through what I have seen produced that no one is taking advantage of it.

I have witnessed a recent proliferation of media being released utilizing uniforms, equipment, weapons, vehicles, and sets that are at a minimum, absolutely incorrect for the period or place of history they are representing. By taking such a lackadaisical attitude towards their productions, they are misrepresenting and distorting history and is absolutely unacceptable. In fact, I find it rather offensive that studios think their audiences are stupid and rather unsophisticated. My experience has shown it to be quite the opposite. Studios don't realize that by producing garbage, they are becoming the laughing stocks of their audiences and historians. It is personally insulting to play us as ignorant fools when studios claim that their production is the most accurate ever produced, but their work shows clearly the contrary.

I wish to put an end to this travesty.

What I offer

I am extremely methodical in my work. I possess a detail oriented personality and scrutinize everything bordering on the obsessive. These strengths, in conjunction with my experience, has allowed me to assemble costuming and actor mannerisms that are exact to original photographs and archived film. So good in fact that people have been unable to identify if my work is a modern recreation or original. If you desire to portray real life history, not a comic or a caricature of history, then I am your solution.

I strive for nothing less than perfection.

I offer my services as a military history consultant and adviser in the areas of history I specialize in of World War Two and the Cold War. A menu of my specialties are listed below. I am well versed in other aspects of these eras, but not detailed enough that I will claim an expertise of them.  I am also able to provide (on a very limited basis) uniforms, equipment and weaponry. If the need arises, I am able to assist in sourcing these on a larger scale.

In summary, I am an asset to your production team of which there is no parallel.

Contact me for details, to discuss your project demands and my rates.
